CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa., Nov. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — iTRACE Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of secure Anti-Grey Market and Anti-Counterfeit solutions for brand owners announced today the completion of its integration with MECCO®, the world’s most popular industrial laser marking and product tracking solution. The pairing is the first integration of the iTRACE 2DMI® software suite directly with a production level laser marking system.

iTRACE 2DMI® Integration with MECCO uses the iTRACE Write-a-Mark and Read-a-Mark SDK’s to connect directly with the custom MECCO marking automation controller, automating the process of applying the iTRACE 2DMI® security marker in any production application. The MECCO marking system is able to apply the 2DMI® security mark directly to the product in a covert or overt application, allowing the brand owner to protect the product as well as the package.

“Our customers will now be able to implement iTRACE 2DMI with a fully integrated production laser system” said iTRACE Founder & CEO Mark Manning. “This is the first time that we have been in the position to just flick a switch within a production system and turn on the brand protection security at this level; integration with MECCO offers a much-needed security solution to industrial and automotive companies who are facing the challenges of counterfeit and grey market trading of their products. iTRACE customers can now gain the benefit by simply installing a fully integrated industrial marking and automation system.”

“MECCO is a well-adopted direct part marking platform, so we expect that the benefit of our integration will help deliver new security solutions directly to brand owners,” said MECCO President Dave Sweet. “Traditionally, laser security solutions have relied on open source technologies that can potentially be defeated by counterfeiters, but with the integration of iTRACE 2DMI®, we can deliver a fast, secure and proprietary solution to brand owners that can’t be reproduced by counterfeiters and diverters. With the iTRACE 2DMI® SDK, we’ve been able to produce a very robust, cost effective and efficient integration. We worked closely with our key customers to identify the best implementation that maximizes the benefit to manufacturers and brand owners.”

“With integration of iTRACE, our customers can take advantage of the full range of security tools to bring together a complete and secure track and trace application,” added Sweet. “We believe our integration with iTRACE will provide a significant competitive advantage to both of our companies.”
